Mica Creative is leading a unique arts project in the Olympic spirit, celebrating the diverse cultures coming to Britain. ‘My Place On The Isle: Exploring Faith & Identity’ is an open submission art competition for emerging and students artists as well as schools, working in any visual art medium. The closing deadline is

Mon 30th April 2012 with judging by Prof Ben Quash (King’s College), Rachel Campbell–Johnston (The Times), Rebecca Wilson (Saatchi Gallery), Roxane Zand (Sothebys), Venetia Porter (The British Museum), in early May 2012 and a Gala Awards dinner announcing the winners in June. The winners will receive a cash prize, media exposure, showcased in Mica gallery, complimented with a ‘Pop Up’ exhibition in King’s Road throughout the Olympic summer.

Olympic Art Competition Open Day: Wed 28th March 2012
Session 1: 10am-11.30am
Session 2: 6pm-8pm
Art workshop: 2nd April 10am - 4pm
Competition Deadline: 30th April 2012
Gala Awards Dinner: June (tbc) 2012 (tickets will be on sale soon)
Exhibition Dates: 24th July – 8th September 2012.(pop up show on King's Road/Sloane Square and a winners' exhibition to be held at Mica Gallery)
