SpaceShip Earth’s Living Roof at Beaconsfield, Summer 2011
Beaconsfield participates in Open House London for the 15th year running with new exhibitions Soundtrap V: Bruce Gilbert and BAW, Nooshin Farhid's Conic Trilogy and special events to launch SpaceShip Earth's living roof for public access
SpaceShip Earth's Living Roof
Masterminded by Mark Pavey, Michael Shaw and Dafna Talmor, the sustainable, living roof at Beaconsfield has been more than a year in the making, built by volunteers, working under strict principles, only from donated and salvaged materials.
Sunday 18 September at 2pm: Green Walk
To celebrate public access to the living roof, local guerrilla gardener and artist Caroline Todd will lead a green walk from Tate Britain to Beaconsfield’s own patch of green. The walk starts at Cultivate Tate: Team Gardening’s herb garden, and will include a visit to guerrilla gardens and Arden House's community-built Biodiverse Roof on Lambeth Council Garages along the way. Assemble at Tate Britain Millbank Entrance for a prompt 2pm start.
Places on the green walk are limited. To reserve a FREE place contact info@beaconsfield.ltd.uk
