The University of Northampton's Avenue Gallery is delighted to present Formula Fashion, an exciting new project within Igniting Ambition East Midlands 2011 (part of the Cultural Olympiad) that will usher in a new era of partnership for design, art and sport. The University of Northampton is proud to partner in this unique cultural collaboration which has resulted in five new and innovative art commissions by some of the UK's most talented artists and designers to showcase Northamptonshire's world-class motorsport and leather heritage. The exhibition was launched at Silverstone which hosted the exhibition at three of its most prestigious motorsport events - the 2011 AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP), the 2011 Formula One Santander British Grand Prix and the Silverstone Classic. Formula Fashion will open at Avenue Gallery at the University's Avenue Campus on St. George's Avenue, Northampton NN2 6JD, between August 22nd and September 5th (Monday- Friday 10am-4pm), with an exclusive preview for visitors to the School of the Arts Open Day on August 19th, before moving on to various venues around Northamptonshire and the East Midlands.
