‘Janne Malmros has a keen natural sense of where to stand to get the best view. Whether working with the magnitude of an entire archive of prints and drawings, a floral dress or even a simple shape, Janne manages to find ways to pique her audience’s curiosity and allow them both aesthetic and intellectual satisfaction. Somehow she
succeeds in combining a non-prescriptive, process-led approach to her work with the consistent ability to produce beautifully intriguing objects. How she chooses her
subjects is not always clear, jumping seamlessly from Lotus spare parts to ladybirds via playing cards and oak apples. But while a pattern to these subjects may remain elusive, what is clear is her overarching methodology of transformation, adaptation and repetition of objects and ideas in an attempt to draw out different possible meanings.’
