About

So Shoot Me present an exhibition of new street photography in light of the impending government restrictions on photography in public places. The exhibition will take place from twilight on Thursday 8th April in two parts: - A unique slideshow roving through London projecting street photography onto a huge handheld canvas - we'll keep you updated on where to spot us... & - A slideshow, DJs and dancing at The Book Club, Leonard Street. So Shoot Me are a thirty-strong photographic collective who wish to celebrate street photography. In addition, the exhibition is timed to publicise the threatened changes to the Data Protection Act 1998 under section 51, which will stipulate that anyone taking a photograph must ask the permission of each individual who appears in it to avoid illegally possessing 'personal data'. It is believed the changes will lead to the death of street photography all together. Following the high profile cases of police misuse of section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, in which photographers and tourists have been prevented from photographing in public places, So Shoot Me hope to show that most photography on most occasions is harmless, an important document of the world in which we live, and NOT a crime. Come and see our human light show, believed to be the first of its kind in London! And join us for a drink at The Book Club in celebration of street photography.
