Event detail
an installation of sound, film, and sculpture
Final year Camberwell College of Arts students Georgia Hudson and Naomi Pratt present an installation at the Sassoon Gallery.
Naomi Pratt’s work creates a landscape of varied planes while challenging our perceptions by expanding the language of painting through three-dimensional forms. Georgia Hudson’s work focuses on the essentials of human experience, drawing on the magic that already exists in the world rather than conjuring false realities.
Pratt’s translucent casts of coastal rock pools are suspended throughout the space, acting as a surface for her structural film to play upon, while Hudson’s layered soundscape reverberates within the arch of the gallery and her frozen spheres harmonise the environment. The overall effect is a holistic and sensory experience that harnesses the enchantments of nature.
The collaboration between the artists began with TITFORTAT in 2007, a group installation in the now demolished Auto Italia Gallery. Georgia Hudson has also exhibited with the ceramics collective BUFF at Village Underground for Make or Break, while Naomi Pratt has exhibited in a group show of new artists at Imperial Works in Seven Sisters.
