Part One: Monday 26 — Friday 30 March (five days) Tutors: Thomas Newbolt and Lucy Cavendish
Drawing from a life model in the studio, students will begin by exploring proportion and relationships of form, moving
into linear sensitivity and tonal relationships. Later in the week an emphasis will be placed on the immediacy of
drawing in response to the model and their surroundings.

Part Two: Monday 16 – Friday 20 April (five days) Tutors: Francis Hoyland and Mark Cazalet
‘When you are drawing remember you are engaging with your mind as well as your optics. Draw what you see not what you think you know.’ This week will give students the opportunity to draw from the life model in the studio and out-and-about in London. Students will draw from art in The National Gallery, which will inform their own drawings in the
studio, and at Spitalfields Market and Church, observing the interval and rhythm of London life.
*Both Spitalfields Market and Christ Church, Spitalfields are covered venues, should the English weather prevail.
