Metamorphosis is a word that is central to Kieran’s exploration as an artist.
Many of his works have revolved around this idea such as the piece where the artist films himself dissecting a huge teddy bear, to then climb inside and wear the bear-suit. Brown uses object making in a way that allows the spectator to see something else other than the inanimate objects that make up its construction.

In Brown’s new work he has succinctly used the idea of change of perception to bring a new body of work that includes the remains of a snowman. Coal, carrot, scarf and branches lay frozen in a chest freezer.
Kieran Brown’s exhibition at R O O M will include a piece in which an ordinary charcoal bag is converted into an enameled wood fired stove radiating heat around the gallery creating an animated warmth throughout the space.
