ROBERT COMBAS SOLO EXHIBITION

The French Opera Gallery presents one of the greatest names in French contemporary art, Robert Combas.

Painter, sculptor, drawer and poet, Robert Combas revolutionised the art scene by creating in early 80s a new figurative painting: the “Figuration Libre”.

The exhibition has been curated with the artist himself and will immediately bring one to Robert Combas’ prolific work. Using references coming from graffiti, rock culture, comics and the media, Robert Combas’s creativity is universally accessible.

It is the first major and commercial solo exhibition to introduce Robert Combas to the Londoner and the British public at large. Another such show was back in 1994 and
was organised in the French Institute of the United Kingdom in London.

Robert Combas remains one of the few popular artists, his meaning recognized, appreciated and collected by the general public as by the professionals.
