Noreen Denzil presents ICONS at the Arndean Gallery
ICONS will be Noreen Denzil’s second solo London show and will be held at the Arndean Gallery in Mayfair from Monday 20th-25th October. A private viewing will take place on Tuesday 21st October.
Noreen has been passionate about painting portraits and iconic figures from popular culture from an early age. At 10 years old her portrait of Elvis was runner-up in a Blue Peter competition - she still has the badge!
She went on to receive her first portrait commission in her late teens and from there developed a deeper interest in portraiture.
In 1998 Noreen painted the footballer, Robbie Fowler, and sold the signed limited edition prints. Following this first commercial foray, in 1999 she painted a portrait of Princess Diana which was donated to the charity Fashion Acts, an AIDS charity for whom Jasper Conran is a patron. The painting was auctioned and bought by one of Diana’s close friends.
Noreen says of her forthcoming exhibition, “It is based on iconic figures past and present who have not only inspired and influenced the areas of music, art, sport and entertainment, but have made us examine our conscience and provided food for thought! They are all individuals, who in my opinion, embody the saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. I hope my exhibition will be enjoyed by all who visit the gallery.”
Noreen paints in pastels and acrylics and the works are available to buy at the end of the exhibition.
