The Directors of Marlborough Fine Art are delighted to announce their forthcoming exhibition of new work by Allen Jones – one of Britain’s most distinguished artists from the pioneering Pop Movement who first showed his famous Green Table 1972 along with other iconic works in an exhibition at Marlborough in September 1972.

This exhibition will include a monumental work in painted steel of a reclining figure and the two extraordinary and inventive new sculptures Screen and Iron Maiden. The over life-size works in bright oil enamel paint on steel, Echo and Prima Donna, will be shown together with smaller editioned sculptures in painted wood. Two major new oil paintings will be exhibited for the first time plus two recent suites of graphic works.
Allen Jones has always been interested in commissions. In 2006 he installed a 10 metre high sculpture for the Yuzi Paradise Sculpture parks in Shanghai and Guilin in China. His most recent commission Déjeuner sur l’Herbe consists of three large-scale figures picnicking, which has just gone on view at Chatsworth in Derbyshire.

Created a Royal Academician in 1986, his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and at Tate Britain simultaneously in 2007-8.
