Henrk Schratt
Berlin-based artist Henrik Schrat creates a site specific artwork that transforms the University Gallery into a "wunderkammer" - a magic cabinet, where letters and text meet and create new meanings before they travel out of the Gallery into the public spaces and architecture of campus.
Drawing upon a visual language inspired by silhouettes, comics and science fiction, Schrat invents scenarios full of irony and layered meaning as he creates a narrative journey that travels around campus, searching for the answer of the simple question, ‘Why is text always black?’
