This exhibition presents a new series of portraits by Adam Hahn depicting people with Macular Degeneration (MD) through their own eyes. MD is the most common cause of blindness in the UK and affected Hahn’s grandmother. This is an artistic exploration and documentation of what is seen by people with this degenerative eye condition. Hahn has been working with the ‘London Project to Cure Blindness’ at the Institute of Ophthalmology who are undertaking gene therapy research to find a cure for the disease. Adam Hahn is an established portrait painter who has twice been selected for the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery and was awarded a Royal Academy scholarship to the Prado in Madrid.
