STEW - Photographic Exhibition
“Thrown Together”
STEW has been slowly cooked to perfection and is ready to be enjoyed
STEW is handmade by selecting only the finest ingredients available. All of its pieces would be a treat enjoyed alone but, when mixed together with skill, the end product is something unique, offering pleasurable surprises to suit even the most delicate and sophisticated taste.
STEW exhibition presents works from thirty-four emerging young photographers from UK and around Europe. Common to all artists involved is a degree from University College for Creative Arts at Rochester, Kent, and their fresh and open-minded approach to photography.
Works range from introspective journeys from one’s own life and past; explorations of memory and personal history; commentary on social and environmental issues; and questioning the nature and the place of photography within contemporary society. All participating artists have diversely tackled these issues in their practice. Working methods vary from early and conventional photographic processes to the latest digital imaging. The variety of techniques and subject matters are tied together by the artists’ strong conceptual approach to the work creating aesthetically interesting and thought provoking images.
