Calvert22 will begin the new year with “Photo I, Photo You”. Curated by Iara Boubnova and opening on January 28 2010, the exhibition of contemporary artist photography addresses Boubnova‘s research into how the artistic production of images in Eastern Europe is increasingly influenced by the encroaching world of advertising - and most particularly the flourishing success of the commercial. Boubnova considers how the artist photographer of Eastern Europe now has to navigate between their own modest art, the clear language of visual propaganda and the overwhelming interface of today‘s neo-capitalist cities.
