UCL Art Museum is located in the heart of UCL's main Bloomsbury campus in a traditional print room, home to over 10,000 works of art, dating from the 1490s to the present day.

Displays, research and teaching are at the core of the Museum's work. The display programme is built around collaborations - with researchers from other disciplines, contemporary artists, other museums and university art collections. The Museum’s collection of paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture also provides unique insight into the history of teaching art in Britain, holding works by famous artists as students and their acclaimed tutors.

Highlights from the Museum’s main collection include Old Master prints and drawings, such as several Rembrandt etchings and an early edition of Dürer's Apocalypse woodcuts. The collection also holds works by Turner and Constable, capturing the height of English Romanticism in their landscape paintings and drawings.

Alongside its historical collection, the Museum holds an impressive body of modern art from the UCL Slade School of Fine Art. This includes works by many important 20th century artists who studied at the Slade, whose works were gifted to the Museum. As the Slade was the first school in London to admit women, the Museum has a rich archive of works by female artists, with 45% of the Slade Collections comprising of art by women - around 1500 works.

Don’t miss the Flaxman Gallery showcasing plaster models by neo-classical artist John Flaxman in a Victorian installation under UCL's iconic dome in the main library. (Visitors to the Gallery will need to gain entry from the main library reception desk. The staff in the UCL Art Museum will be available to help).
