The Parlour Studios & Project Space

The Parlour is dedicated to promoting and showcasing work by artists at various points in their career, as well as providing an interface for interaction between the arts and the community. Since 2006 an artist-curated program of exhibitions, events and projects devised by our Artistic Coordinator and Curator (artist-in-residence @ The Parlour) has brought a diverse range of contemporary ideas and practice to the local community. In order to enrich the program and diversify our approach, each year a different young curator is given an opportunity to present his/her own project at The Parlour - a point of departure for the exchange of ideas on contemporary practice and issues thereof arising, and a balancing act between artist-curated and curator-curated approaches to exhibition making
