The Print Room is an exciting new creative space in the heart of the Northern Quarter, providing print courses, fine art editioning services, studio hire and a small gallery space. We offer a well equipped studio including 7ft x 5ft print bed, exposure unit for A0 silk screens, within a clean, contemporary and professional environment giving you everything you need to create your prints.

Led by leading printmaker Sarah Hardacre, courses at The Print Room gives you plenty of individual mentor time focused on your projects. While learning the traditional skills for creating hand pulled photo silk screen prints, each course is tailored to your ideas, helping you realise your creative ideas.

The Print Room works in partnership with G.F Smith Paper and Manchester based Fred Aldous ensuring we can provide every possible type of paper and material you could need and we are also set up for printing to fabrics, t-shirts, tote bags and more. And we’re an eco friendly studio, using only water based acrylics, cotton and acid free papers. We recycle all waste from the process of screen print. All the t-shirts and bags we offer for you to use in your print projects are 100% organic cotton.

In addition to our course programme, The Print Room is available to hire, providing all the facilities of a professional photographic screen printing studio. One to one technical support is always on hand and The Print Room are always looking to work collaboratively with other creatives and artists in the city to manifest Manchester as a true center of print culture for the North West and the UK.

Over the next five years we aim to become Manchester’s Centre for Print and will do this by expanding our printing facilities, creating print dedicated exhibition space for internationally established and emerging artists and delivering a cultural programme of artists talks and symposiums that will add value to the already established culture for new wave print in the city.
