SPACE art gallery is a not-for-profit gallery run purely for the love of art and with the intention of bringing this to the local community. Fionn Wilson manages painting and the day-to-day running of the gallery and Gosia Stasiewicz manages photography. We are located a few minutes' walk from Southgate tube (Piccadilly line). Although we are particularly interested in exhibiting local emerging artists, SPACE welcomes exciting modern art from across London and beyond.

SPACE aims to forge links with the local community and to encourage creativity. We see art, in all its guises, as a way to transcend the mundane. We have a particular interest in street art and outsider art. The gallery itself is a raw, exciting and extensive space, which is in a state of constant flux.

Part of the inspiration for the opening of the SPACE gallery came from the art movement called situationism, especially the situationist idea of bringing vitality and creativity into urban areas. And also, of course, of taking artistic advantage of possibilities where and when they arise. The gallery has been established in an abandoned bank ' which says a lot about our current economical state of affairs in this country, but it's also a wonderful example of how something so depressing can be turned into something valuable for the local community. Which is exactly what situationism is all about, turning dead urban spaces into exciting and inspiring places.

Fionn Wilson is a self-taught artist who has a particular interest in modern figurative painting, modern abstract art and outsider art. Her interests include Situationist International, abstract expressionism, the art of Rothko, Munch, Beckmann, Franz Kline, Francis Bacon, Ad Reinhardt, Andy Warhol, Frank Auerbach and Chaim Soutine.

Gosia Stasiewicz is a photographer and designer. She has a particular interest in modernist architecture, the work of Diane Arbus, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Jackson Pollock, Frieda Kahlo and Andy Warhol.
