About

Dalston Anatomy by Lorenzo Vitturi is a multi-faceted project that centres around Dalston's Ridley Road Market in London. Vitturi, who lived in close proximity to the market, witnessed the area's gentrification and felt compelled to capture its distinctive nature before it changes beyond recognition. Vitturi created formally dynamic compositions by arranging found objects and photographing them against the backdrop of discarded market materials. These are combined with street scenes and portraits of local characters. His installation at the Gallery draws on the temporary structures of the market using raw materials, sculptural forms and photographs to address ideas around creation, consumption and preservation.
