About

Find out more about Issa Samb, Laboratoire Agit Art and other themes relating to the exhibition and Issa Samb's work. It is the artist's first UK solo exhibition, curated by Koyo Kouoh, Artistic Director of Raw Material Company based in Dakar. The exhibition features a new installation referencing the changing environment of his atelier as well as showing archival materials and films made during his unique collaboration with French artist / director Jean Michel Bruyère. Osei Bonsu is a British-Ghanaian independent curator and writer based in London. He contributes to the current affairs magazine New African, and NKA: Journal of Contemporary African Art published by Duke University Press. His current curatorial projects include the first UK solo exhibition by the contemporary artist Ibrahim Mahama, opening in Dublin in December 2014. He has collaborated with ANO, the research platform founded by Nana Oforiatta Aiym, and has worked closely with Cameroonian-born curator Koyo Kouoh as an associate researcher. His interests include the critical legacy of African modernism, as well as new radical cultural practices and urban developments in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2013, he worked on the organization of the first edition of 1:54, the first art fair for contemporary African art and culture in London.
