About

This is a rare opportunity to view and purchase sculpture, drawings, and prints by this charismatic and talented artist. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1915 to a half-Irish father, Frank Quinn and a Mexican-Indian mother, Manuela Oaxaca. Whilst still at school, winning an architecture competition enabled Quinn to study and work with the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright — an encounter that was to change his life forever. At Frank Lloyd Wright's recommendation to improve his speech, Anthony had an operation on his frenulum, and afterwards, for speech therapy, started acting classes. He worked as a janitor to pay for his lessons and when one young actor fell ill, the teacher asked Anthony to take his part in the school play. He received wonderful reviews and thus began his career as an actor. However Anthony Quinn continued to paint and sculpt throughout his life — this was no hobby. Quinn was a prolific and talented artist whose work is much sought after.
