Lanzarote: Heirs to the Volcano

About

Lanzarote is one of Canary Islands known as the Island of the Volcanoes. The dialog between artist and nature has been always a basic thread to understand such a particular culture directly influenced by its geographic and geologic location. The history of Lanzarote is full of images of the fight for survival in a hard land for tillage. The important figure of the international well known artist César Manrique placed Lanzarote in a unique and exclusive situation to preserve and defend the particular nature values and culture, wich is capable to transmit to the traveler the message of authenticity and special environmental energy. Today, the Lanzarote´s artists, heirs of the wind, fire and ocean, we must follow the Manrique´s way in a volcanic landscape with lights and colours only appreciated in this part of the world. On 29th May-6th June. Exhibit by a collective of artists from the Asociación Cultural Perro Flaco, who will fly into London for the opening, 6.30-9pm; please email to join our bienvenida.
