About

A screening of TTTT artist Cécile B. Evans' new work 'How happy a Thing can be'. This will be preceded by an in conversation event with Evans and Ben Vickers, Curator of Digital, Serpentine Galleries.

Ben Vickers is a curator, writer, network analyst, technologist and luddite. Currently Curator of Digital at the Serpentine Galleries, he co-runs LIMAZULU project space and facilitates the open-source development of unMonastery, a new civically minded social space based on contemporary monastic principles, being prototyped in Matera, Southern Italy.
He's an active member of 'EdgeRyders', a distributed thinktank incubated by the Council of Europe, co-curates a nomadic talks program called 'The Thought Menu' and participates in the 'NearNow fellowship program'.

Cécile B. Evans (b.1983) is a Belgian American artist based in London and Berlin. She was the recipient of the Emdash Award which resulted in a commissioned work for the Frieze Art Fair in London (2012). She is the recipient of the Push Your Art Prize, which resulted in the production and exhibition of a new video work at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013). Recent exhibitions include: 'La Voix Humaine' curated by Saim Demircan, Kunstverein Munich; 'Annals of the 29th Century' curated by Gareth Bell-Jones, Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge; 'How to Eclipse the Light' curated by Karen Archey, Wilkinson Gallery, London and Desire Bergen Art Museum, Norway. She was recently an artist in resident at the Wysing Arts Centre, UK and participated in talks series such as Rhizome?s Seven on Seven, Barbican, London, ICA Salon, London and Art Basel Miami Beach Conversations, Florida. She is currently working on a digital commission with the Serpentine Galleries, London titled 'AGNES', curated by Ben Vickers.
