About

The exhibition will reveal and celebrate the range of creative processes and skills involved in making the final garment that appears on the catwalk. Curated by Orsola de Castro, The Garment Project - a Fashion Exhibition celebrates the creative process involved in the conception and realisation of making clothes for the fashion industry. On display will be work created by a group of young people aged 15-19, who have been collaborating with Fashion Enter Ltd (as part of FashionCapital.co.uk) to develop skills in the design and creation of garments. Presented alongside the word of professional designers, pattern cutters and makers, this inspiring exhibition showcases the range of skills and imagination behind the finished garment. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of free family workshops on every Sunday (12noon - 4pm). These workshops are open to all and of varied themes. For details on workshops and events accompanying this exhibition, please visit http://pumphousegallery.org.uk/participation Orsola de Castro is creative director at Reclaim to Wear and co-founder and co-director at Esthetica, London Fashion Week. The exhibition has been created in collaboration with Fashion Enter Ltd, Wandsworth Arts Team and is a part of Wandsworth Art Festival, 3-19 May 2014.
