About

A unique opportunity to view the work of international artists-in-residence Tania Pérez Córdova (Mexico), Pedro Lagoa (Portugal), Gizela Mickiewicz (Poland) and Kartik Sood (India). Screenings, tours, talks and other events will also take place over the weekend. Our current exhibition Mouthfeel by Maryam Jafri is also on show throughout the weekend, and events on the Friday coincide with SLAM Last Fridays, a late night opening of over 90 galleries in South London. OPEN STUDIO TOUR FRIDAY 28 MARCH, 6.30pm Gasworks' Residencies Programmer leads an informal tour of the residency artists' studios. SCREENING: Pedro Lagoa FRIDAY 28 MARCH, 7.30pm Pedro Lagoa (Portugal) presents the film a cut through the archive of destruction as part of his ongoing archive of destruction project. Consisting of edited and collaged materials found in Lagoa's collection and through subjective, associative lines of enquiry, the film performs a 'cut' - in a geological sense - through some of the main ideas contained in the archive. TALK: Residency Artists SATURDAY 29 MARCH, 2pm As part of the Open Studio Weekend, Gasworks' visiting artists introduce their practice and discuss the projects they have pursued whilst in London. TALK: Tania Pérez Córdova SATURDAY 29 MARCH, 4pm Tania Pérez Córdova (Mexico) presents a series of formal and conceptual associations - from art, literature and everyday life - intending to mimic the layered research methods the artist has been applying during her three-month residency.
