About

How can one capture and preserve time, places and events in all its complexity? How can you make the patterns of the past invisible visible again reflect the real in its authentic form and return it to a current, contemporary context? Caro Jost (*1965, Munich) deals with these issues in their art apart and has found for itself a response: in her Streetprints, which she first developed in New York in 2000. Streetprints are imprints of road and pavement reliefs. The environment itself is the subject and at the same time real first print. The tracks that people have left in the asphalt over the decades with each of their steps are recorded and blend together in the print to form an entity: time and place come together. Street Prints are a concentrate of the past in the present. We are delighted to present the first solo exhibition by artist Caro Jost in Berlin.
