About

Site specific art project 16th October 2013 — 19th March 2014 Curated by Cristiana Bottigella & Tisna Westerhof Harts Lane Studios is proud to present ‘Let Me Go To The Window', a compelling new site specific art project created for and in response to the gallery window. The ordinary windows in our houses demarcate a pervious boundary between inside and outside, between private and public — this boundary can be crossed by looking through the window from either side. From October 16th 2013 until the end of March 2014, ten selected artists will create site specific and temporary public artworks. Every two weeks a new artist will engage with the one and only window in Harts Lane as a platform to evoke, celebrate and inspire the passers-by and local residents of New Cross Gate. The ten installations, social and spatial interventions are created in response to Sandberg's iconic poem ‘At A Window' where the intimate relation between the window and its surroundings create a dialogue touching some of the hidden pressures and treasures of city life. The programme will feature: 16 Oct — 30 Oct | Katie Ellen Fields 30 Oct — 13 Nov | Samuel Little 13 Nov — 27 Nov | Ash Fitzgerald 27 Nov — 11 Dec | Dannielle Hodson 11 Dec — 25 Dec | Bill Purnell 2014 8 Jan — 22 Jan | Alia Zapparova & Mia Cuk 22 Jan — 5 Feb | Teresa Leung 5 Feb — 19 Feb | Helen Flanagan 19 Feb — 5 Mar | Emma Bagley 5 Mar — 19 Mar | Janet Currier Facing onto the street (Harts Lane), the artworks can be viewed 24 hours a day by the general public.
