Nick Bodimeade: New paintings

Nick Bodimeade returns to the Zimmer Stewart Gallery this November with new beach paintings. These new works represent a step change in Nick Bodimeade's paintings. Gone are the small pixellated images of crowds on a large beachscape scenes; these are replaced by smaller works on board, showing larger figures in broad impasto brush strokes. Nick Bodimeade is seemingly able to represent the human form in paint with the minimum amount of information. Outlines are created with "negative painting" where the background is painted around the subjects. The paintings are well observed and executed by an artist now well established across the South of England, with regular exhibitions in St Ives, Chipping Campden, Lewes, London and with the Zimmer Stewart Gallery in Arundel.
