Summit Gallery presents This Orientation, a solo exhibition by London-based artist Riccardo Iacono
About
Iacono will be working in the gallery during the two weeks preceding the exhibition, using photography, video and collage to create a cross-media installation responding to the gallery space and its location high above the labyrinthine streets of Hackney Wick.
Biography:
Riccardo Iacono (b. Blackburn, Lancashire, 1969) is a London-based artist working with abstract film, digital animation, video collage, painting, performance, photography and installation.
He studied Painting at Glasgow School of Art (1988-91) and Electronic Imaging at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee (2000-01). His work has shown widely including Channel 4 (1997/9); A Century of Artists Film in Britain, Tate Britain (2003); and European Media Art Festival, Osnabrueck (2007). Solo exhibitions and screenings include Ice in The Freezer, Pleasure Dome, Toronto (2003); Love Songs From a Dark Body, La Enana Marron, Madrid (2005) and The No Show, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester 2007.
In 2005 he was awarded a 5-year live/work residency at Acme Fire Station, East London and in 2007 he was Animate Projects' Artist-in-Residence at London College of Communication.
