About

Goldsmiths Students' Union and Eva London are launching an exhibition showcasing winning and finalist photographs from the Goldsmiths Fashion Photography Competition 2008/09. The exhibition will take place at the Gallery in the Students' Union, a space where in the late 1980s, youthful members of Blur mixed with Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and Sam Taylor-Wood. ABOUT Goldsmiths is all about the freedom to experiment, to think differently, to be an individual. A platform for emerging artists, the college boasts internationally acclaimed graduates that regularly feature in the Turner Prize (five winners), Becks Futures Prize, John Moores Prize and Paul Hamlyn Awards, as well as famous names in art and fashion such as Mary Quant, Margaret Howell, Lucian Freud, Damien Hirst and Louise Wilson. Eva London is an accessories label influenced by unlikely heroines and a colour obsession. Each piece has a bold design and offbeat style, from oversized necklaces to bird headpieces and lily-pads. They also restore timeless vintage jewellery from forgotten chests and collaborate with art colleges and universities to design crested rings, pioneering a new aesthetic for heritage-chic.
