Screening and lecture performance by The Otolith Group

About

In this special screening and lecture performance, The Otolith Group present Nervus Rerum (2008), a film that uses sound, image and text to explore the scarred landscape of Jenin Refugee Camp in Palestine. In the film, various routes through the camp that lead to dead ends are explored and juxtaposed with spoken excerpts from the writings of Fernando Pessoa and Jean Genet.

Founded in 2000 by artist Anjalika Sagar and artist, writer and theorist Kodwo Eshun, The Otolith Group's artistic work rethinks various archives of futurity through moving image, sound, text and curatorial practice. This film powerfully contributes to The Otolith Group's research into the conditions under which histories become visible. This event will be chaired by Paul Goodwin, Curator: Cross Cultural, Tate Britain.

This is a must see event given the current conflict unfolding in Gaza.
