In conjunction with Standpoint Gallery, Hoxton, studio1.1 presents another pre-Xmas extravaganza in which we can all go to hell in a handbasket and come back clicking our heels while bringing our tails and Toto behind us. The onus as ever is upon the viewer to judge. Alluding to the Malibu melodramas like 'The Bold and the Beautiful' we parody damnation in order to keep it at bay. We praise paradise and yet inevitably corrupt and sully it, proving ourselves unworthy of our wildest imaginings. ‘E quinci sian le nostre viste sazie' ‘And let our sight be satisfied with that...' Dante, Inferno canto XVIII Does art still have a role to play in promoting morally sound belief systems?
