Michaela Melián: Speicher

Speicher, is a newly commissioned installation, for which Cubitt joined hands with two German institutions (Ulmer Museum, and Lentos Art Museum Linz), who showed the work in Germany earlier this year. Nevertheless, the exhibition of Speicher at Cubitt, will be the first time that this work will be shown in Britain, and is Melián's very first show outside of Germany. Melián's intrinsically personal work investigates lost histories, story telling, and rhetoric; executed via mediums such as drawing, film, music, and writing. Speicher reenacts the first ever multi media sculpture in Germany, which was lost shortly after its display at the International Transport Exhibition Munich, in 1965.
