The17: Slice through Derby

A special performance, exhibition and film commissioned by QUAD from international artist and musician Bill Drummond. The17 celebrates QUAD and particularly its location in Derby, and has involved 100 groups of 17 people who live or work around the city. The participants attended one of 100 voice recording sessions, at which a group portrait was taken as well as video footage. These 100 separate music recordings were mixed together to create a huge piece of choral music that was played to the participants in August. The 100 group photographs and video portraits are on show throughout the QUAD building. There is a specially created publication about the project available to buy from the QUAD Box Office.
