About

'Capturing Water in a Sieve' includes work in a variety of media by seventeen teachers from across the region. The exhibition will explore themes as diverse as family memories, the effect of light and weather on the colour of landscape, a contemporary interpretation of ancient philosophy and an installation celebrating quirky newspaper articles. The exhibition is the culmination of a year-long professional development course for art teachers that helps them to develop or reconnect with their own practice. The Artist Teacher Scheme is run by Oxford Brookes University in collaboration with Modern Art Oxford. Most of the teachers trained as artists originally, and now teach in primary and secondary education.
