About

Polish DeConstruction in connection with Homeless Gallery has pleasure to announce British edition of the well known international photographic event. The idea for the HOMELESS GALLERY was born in the minds of two famous photographers - Tomek Sikora and Andrzej Swietlik. HOMELESS - because it has no permanent address; it appears for a short while, after which it disappears, only to reappear again in a completely different place. It appears wherever a place becomes available that can give photography a home for a short while. It appears whenever the need for it. It is independent and non-profit. Has no control, no curatorship, no entry requirements. Defines itself anew every time. Postmodern in a character bears no rules, generating cosmopolitan communication platform, glorifying liberty of artistic creation. Spontaneous and informal has always got the atmosphere of the squat, has no other aims than total interaction between photographers and audience. A cross boundary idea, nomadic happening every time becomes a celebration of photography in it's many forms. Since initiation in 2002 it translocated more than 60 times , taking a place in Australia, Germany, Italy, Algeria, USA and many other places around the world. This September it is finally going to take a place in UK.
