About

Thursday 6 November 2014, 12.30pm to 1.30pm Join us for a free, informal lunchtime tour and discussion of our exhibition Hunters by David Chancellor led by Prof. Daniel Brockington, Professor of Conservation and Development at The University of Manchester. Hunters explores the complex relationship between humans and animals, documenting the trophy hunting industry in Africa. Chancellor's unflinching six-year survey includes images of hunters with their prey, the taxidermy process, hunters' trophy rooms, and local workers reliant on the industry for their livelihood. Prof. Daniel Brockington will examine the complicated issues raised by the exhibition, including an open discussion of the legality of hunting, the role of international wildlife protection organisations and the idea of 'selling nature' in order to preserve it for future generations. Carry on the conversation downstairs in Forster's Bistro and Deli, who have kindly offered 10% off all eat in meals for attendees of Feed Your Mind. Simply hand your voucher to your server when ordering. Free event, no booking required.
