These artists shortlisted for the Curwen Gallery Prize for Figurative Painting, were selected by a panel of esteemed judges including artists Sir Peter Blake and Anthony Green RA, and Nicholas Usherwood, Features Editor of Galleries Magazine. Alison Elliott was announced as winner of the Curwen Gallery Prize for Figurative Painting, and Michael Kirkbride's painting 'Drawing Class' won the Odgers Berndtson Purchase Prize. The exhibition showcases a great array of talent, and also the vast diversity in figurative painting through the different painterly languages artists use in their practice. The other shortlisted artists were Colin Allbrook, Richard Dack, Sandy Damon, Jeremy Galton, Josh Hollingshead, Peter Jones, Mark Lawrence, Jill Leman, Martin Leman, Bridget Moore, Colin Murray, Max Naylor, Michael Sangster, Eileen Schaer, Mark Ward and Robert E Wells.
