Matt Bodimeade presents new landscape paintings in oil on canvas and pastel on paper. With an intimate sense of the subject, Matt Bodimeade's South Downs works are a visual delight. Whether he is using oil on canvas or pastel on paper, he is able to layer colours then carve through them to create texture and light. The bright colours he uses seem un-natural at first but then when you go out again to the Sussex hills you too can see his inspiration. With repeated motifs (a sickle shaped hedge or wall) and the rolling peaks undulating into the distance there is an unmistakeable energy and rhythm which invites you in.
