A celebration of light through contemporary artContemporary art lights up the dark hours
About
Croft Castle & Parkland, Yarpole, Near Leominster, HR6 9PW
During the darkest months of the year, Meadow Arts and National Trust will present In Another Light, an unusual contemporary art programme at Croft Castle, Herefordshire. Croft is a formidable stone manor house set in an exceptional landscape, which holds the memory of 3,000 years of British history.
With new immersive, sculptural light pieces from the exciting young artist David Ogle, In Another Light will unfold, both within the castle and throughout the surrounding park and woodlands.
Even in the cold light of day, Croft Castle and the surrounding landscape are mesmerising, though as night falls and familiar landmarks recede, Croft reveals more hidden depths. Significantly, the exhibition and supporting events are programmed following the lunar calendar and major pagan festivals.
Offering a rare chance to experience Croft at its most atmospheric, the Castle and grounds will open for special Saturday evening viewings, with a programme of live art and performance events.
This event takes place in darkness, so please bring a torch.
Due to the outdoor nature of this event, please check with the venue in bad weather, before making your journey. Phone 01568 782120 for visitor information.
