About

Yukako Shibata's work combines painting, sculpture, photography and installation, which essentially minimal, of objects that are touched with a Japanese aesthetic of subtlety and simplicity in colour and shape. The artist explores the fleeting colours of the natural world and questions the comlex interplay of light, atmosphere and the human perceptural system. Yukako Shibata was born in Japan and lives and works in London. She is a recent graduate of the Royal College of Art (Painting).
