The pick of this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is travelling to Yorkshire.

This major exhibition, curated by Senior Royal Academician Norman Ackroyd, will include originals by some of the UK’s most respected contemporary artists including Michael Craig-Martin RA, Dame Elizabeth Blackadder RA, Albert Irvin RA, Barbara Rae RA, Cornelia Parker OBE, RA and Turner Prize nominee Ian Davenport all handpicked from this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

This a great opportunity to both view and purchase original prints by artists whose work is rarely on show in North Yorkshire and will also feature:

• Artist Joe Tilson, who during the 1960s became one of the leading figures associated with the British Pop Art movement.
• Allen Jones RA also a British pop artist, an English painter, sculptor and printmaker.
• Engraver and Printmaker Peter Freeth who in 1960 won the Prix de Rome in Engraving, and was elected a Royal Academician in 1991.

Norman Ackroyd says:

“The Print Room at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition comprehensively covers the huge variety of recent prints produced in every printing medium in the UK. Zillah Gallery asked me to curate an exhibition selected from this year’s 246th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. In it I have tried to reflect the diversity and energy existing throughout the UK across all print media, traditional and new.”
