Photographer Simon Roberts will give a talk about his current display Pierdom at Towner (Eastbourne Pier), as well as his photographic practice and the work he has made over the past decade exploring idea of the British landscape.

About

In Pierdom, Roberts has spent the last 3 years travelling the coastline of Britain photographing the last remaining pleasure piers. In We English, Roberts took photographs on a year's journey across England, looking at landscapes where groups of people congregate for a common purpose and shared experience. In 2010, Roberts made another journey around the country, this time to make work for The Election Project, where he was commissioned as the official ‘Election Artist' by the House of Commons Works of Art Committee to create a permanent visual record of the 2010 General Election. Supported by Flowers Gallery using public funding by Arts Council England through National Lottery
