This show of works from City & Guilds graduate Lucienne O'Mara will explore identity and portraiture through her characteristic distorted and heavily worked canvasses.
Using a group of burlesque dancers as her subject, layers within the paintings are built up and removed repeatedly until they start to join together to form one united shape.
'Through a vigorous process of application and removal using acrylic on canvas, I am distorting the image of a person with water to suggest the disintegration of a consistent identity, and also the fragility of identity itself.'
These large scale works will be exhibited alongside some smaller works on paper until 26th September.
