It will comprise of a number of workshop and forum-based gatherings of both students, amateur and professional poets and musicians. This project will form the basis for the development of an ongoing project that will bring together individual singer songwriters based in Wales to respond to and be inspired by themes within the work of Dylan Thomas. It will marry two creative mediums in which we in Wales have great pride and a contemporary presence — the creative and lyrical use of language and contemporary music. Lyrical One will create a forum for young and established singer songwriters as well as a series of workshops for young musicians/lyricists. The project will further promote the name of Dylan Thomas and Wales to a worldwide public, providing a public performance and an international presence through social media and the internet. Alongside these workshops and performance we will host an exhibition featuring work by artists who write, who use texts or whose inspiration, collaborations and influence, has come from the literary world, poetry and prose. Including Iwan Bala & Angharad Jenkins new collaborative work, 'Project Haciw', inspired by the late poet and writer Nigel Jenkins.
