Marius Kwint, Reader in Visual Culture at the University of Portsmouth, in conversation with 2014 Jerwood Makers. Confirmed participants include: Hitomi Hosono, Matthew Raw, Shelley James, FleaFollyArchitects and artists Revital Cohen and Tuur Van Balen. Marius Kwint is Reader in Visual Culture at the University of Portsmouth. He was guest curator of the popular and critically acclaimed Welcome Collection exhibition 'Brains: the Mind as Matter' in London in 2012 and at MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) in Manchester in 2013. After writing his doctorate on the history of the circus, he worked as research fellow with the V&A Museum/Royal College of Art History of Design programme, organizing the conference 'Material Memories: Design and Evocation' (published by Berg, 1999). He then lectured in history of art at the University of Oxford until 2008, devising an exhibition on the dendritic (branching) form in science and art at the Museum of Design in Zurich in 2005, entitled 'Einfach Komplex (Simply Complex)'.
