About

Cinémathèque* is a monthly film night presented by day for night* at The Proud Archivist - a combined gallery, bar, restaurant, café and events space situated on Regent's Canal, Haggerston - the east side of town's must-see film night with a curated selection of independent films, showcasing emerging talent, hidden gems, underground and niche cinema. THE BOOT (Mohammad Ali Talebi I Iran 1993 I 59 mins I screening start time: 7.30pm) Samaneh is a little girl with a brand new pair of red boots. One day she loses one boot. This is the story of her journey to try and find it. Talebi, a collaborator with renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, masterfully communicates this charming tale, emotive in its innocence and childlike simplicity. THE BOOT is yet another example of Talebi's unique understanding of the role of children in film. www.day-for-night.org/cinematheque
