About

Worlds Apart Kjetil Berge With Jason Havneraas, Kristian Skylstad, Jóhanna Ellen Rà kharà °sdóttir and guests. In 2012 Kjetil left London in an ice-cream van purchased in the north of England and drove to to Kirkenes, Norway via Murmansk, Russia. Ice cream was exchanged along the way for conversations about the weather. The journey was a starting point for a series of encounters, invitations and events inspired by travel, water and ice cream. Kjetil has since shown in Hammerfest, Oslo and Sandnes, and offered performances, ornaments, videos and songs. Over the two weekends at Five Years he is inviting contributors from Noplace, an artist-led space in Oslo along with local guests to produce events elaborating on the theme of the show. Jason Havneraas creates work that seduces and balances between the staged and the documentary. He has made a video especially for the exhibition in collaboration with Kjetil Berge: k j drøymer, 2014 . Kristian Skylstad's work is often based on the individual's behavior and emotional state. For the exhibition in Sandnes he creates a mural titled Pink Matter. At the opening he will have a performance with Kjetil Berge. Jóhanna Ellen Rà kharà °sdóttir is a multi-media artist who investigates how technology and the media shape our social landscape and influences our relationship with objects and each other.
