Zoë Mendelson and Joel Tomlin both use low-key materials and seductive images to conjure up the overlap of histories and a sense of time slowed, referencing the dawn of psycholanalysis. They are both concerned with ushering into view things hidden, wandering into history, pilfering fictions and making seemingly romantic connections.
